For example, an analyst may want to change certain features of the current situation or specify a new situation (scenario) and then glean information about the temporal evolution of the specified scenario with respect to a specified timeline. Note that this service is not the same as the prediction service, although this reasoning may be co-opted into the current service, rather it is aimed at providing information about the scenario across ANY time period, which could be time period occurring in the past. In this case the service exploits knowledge about causal contingencies to infer the phenomenon that would, in all likelihood, have given rise to the defined scenario. |
