Notes:
Finally, the plan to rescue the Red Cross workers is complete and the CJTF briefs USCP on the plan. In the USCP Operations Planning Room, the OPT is “gathered,” in addition to the other commands and agencies. Access to participants in other virtual rooms will also be available to support the final decision making process. These will include the JTF Ops Center, where the JTF commander, his staff, and components can view the plan and pass comments to the CJTF, CTF 76. Additionally, the USCP Logistics Readiness Team (LRT) has been called together to examine the logistic supportability of the plan and will conduct their review from individual workspaces in the Odyssey Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) with J43 representing the LRT as a member of the OPT and accessing both the LRC and Operations Planning rooms.
Facilitate.com is used to lead a session reviewing the CJTF’s proposed COA, as well as provide an update on the situation in Drapo. In order to gain an idea of the consensus of the USCP staff regarding the plan, the USCP J30-OPT uses the Course of Action Selection Tool (COAST) to evaluate the proposed COA.
Following USCP review, the final campaign object update is completed with the Web Planner. The OPT then develops a PowerPoint briefing on the proposed COA, including a formal Commander’s Estimate and this is passed to CJCS via the Odyssey Joint Staff planning room for approval. Once this approval is obtained the USCP and JTF Operations Orders finalized in the Web Planner. The OPORD is then available for viewing via the Virtual OPORD Book (VOB).
