Web Planner leads CJTF through COA development, update campaign object
MEU, PHIBRON participate in Mission Analysis through IT 21 network
Notes:
Now that the JTF has been officially formed and tasked, planning for the actual operation becomes intense. The “turbo” planning feature of the Web Planner guides the JTF staff through the process of mission analysis. The virtual JTF Ops Center allows this process to be undertaken with outside participants whose support and advice are important to the CJTF: USCP, FMFPAC, III MEF, COMSEVENTHFLT. Additionally, CTF 510 in Darwin is “present” in the JTF Ops Center to assist in information gathering and coordination. The embassy in Jakarta is also part of the JTF Ops Center and is coordinating with the Red Cross via the Odyssey Country Team Working Room.
The Web Planner updates the campaign object as the Mission Analysis is done and parts of the plan are filled in. Because the ARG is now the core of the joint task force, the PHIBRON commander and MEU commander have assumed duties as NAVFOR and MARFOR commanders, respectively. This makes them full participants with the CJTF in planning and they will rely on the installed IT 21 network aboard the ARG ships to collaborate with their subordinate forces (MSEs, ships, TACRON, SEALs, other detachments) in developing the plan with the Web Planner.
