Organize planning staff
- type: Activity
- Id: Organize planning staff
- Documentation: This activity was intended to represent the division of planning staff into pairs of Intel and Planners. Checkmate argue that this never really happens.
- Status:
- Predecessor:
- Successor:
- Component:
- Doer: Chief of plans - with strong input from JFACC
N.B. CJTF appoints JFACC, with poss input from CinC. Theres a formula - the AF with the lrgest no of resources in the JTF appoints their senior air officer as JFACC. JFACC will have his own staff but he'll typically augment the staff as well
- Owner: JFACC
- Resource: Staff; known other officers; informaton structure for the staff e.g. 9th AF do't have good access to national data in peacetime but will have in wartime.
- Interval: Immediate; XOO say its almost automatic; gets revised if the people on the job do oporly or you become aware of new info sources/resources. DH doesn't envision any formal review.
In a long war (like Vietnam), there's n annual review because of nnual cycling of personnel (new boss)
- Pre-Condition: Guidance; JTF formed;
- Effect: Staff organized; assignment of responsibilities; organizational structure
