I did remove a lot of tris and quads from your original SC model that were not visible or necessary for use in Xplane. This "weight reduction" can continue for newer versions of Supercar. The present Xplane 3D SC model is 59 Mb, and could probably get to 45 Mb after more vert reduction. In deserts, I get 120 frames per second in the sim with it, so there is little frame hit unless operating in dense urban scenery. (Win 7 w. i5 and 4Gb Ram, medium video card) I now have a textured SC flying pretty well, and am working through making the canopy transparency texture export: GLSL shaders vs my knowledge. Looks like I will have to downgrade from Blender 2.76 to 2.4x. I'd also like to make a basic panel and a few other tweaks, then let it go. As for BRL, in sim I want to raise or move it a bit to stop Z-trash, but Overlay Editor won't load the DSF files ("not an overlay") which can be fixed in the text files for the area. BRL does not exist as a Blender model anymore, but it can be imported as an Xplane .obj into Blender 2.4x up to 2.5 and 2.6. I am running 2.76 now. After 2.6, you can only export an Xplane .obj from Blender. There is also a Sketchup import tool to use. Many people use AC3D, including Laminar (makers of Xplane). As a cheat for right now, you can view the BRL in Plane Maker as a v8 or 9 cockpit object. Make a new folder in Xplane's Aircraft folder named "BRL viewer". Copy the attached 4 files into it. Load "Plane Maker" and File-Open-Aircraft-BRL. This presents the BRL model. A,D,W,S to rotate/pan and +/- to zoom. The .obj file can be edited in any text editor. Supplied is the texture .png for the Lab, correctly named as a file and also in the .obj file call for it. I do not know why it is not rendering a fully textured model in Plane Maker, (dead UV links?) but as I said, it's a cheat. Select Special - Show with still / moving controls to view the roof and hangar doors open and close, shutters and antennae rotate, etc. The solar panel field tracks the Sun azimuth, but the model motion axes are wrong. The Lab in sim looks really great, but I am having probs with the roof opening, most likely the SC data ref that calls it. https://www.marginal.org.uk/x-planescenery/old.html https://www.marginal.org.uk/x-planescenery/tools.html http://www.inivis.com/ (AC3D) I do not have a VR headset yet, just a good 3D big screen. I like Glyph, a screenless retinal projection system. https://avegant.com/ Regards, Chris BRL viewer.acf BRL viewer_cockpit.obj BRL viewer_cockpit.png lab pad.obj
