| Definition | Planners identify the Close Air Support (CAS) missions and develop the ATO inputs for those missions. These inputs include scheduled mission times as well as alert requirements for CAS aircraft. These sorties are separated early in the planning process so that planners are certain that the ground support requirements are satisfied. Those sorties cannot be used to support air requirements. |
