Talk Abstract
Activity and Plan Ontologies -
Emerging Consensus and Standards
Austin Tate, AIAI
A description of work over the last 5 years in a number of
communities who wish to establish standards for communication of
processes, workflow information, plans and activity descriptions.
This will include work on KRSL, PIF, NIST PSL, and SPAR. The talk
will also mention Edinburgh work on a simple underlying abstraction
for plan/activity/process ontologies based on representing activity
as "constraints on behaviour" - called . This is compatible
with the emerging standards. It is proposed as an approach that
could be widely used in other Edinburgh work.
