Welcome to Hardy
----------------

To install Hardy, you need the files disk1.zip, disk2.zip.
You may have downloaded the file hardy.zip, in which case,
please unzip this file to create the disk1.zip, disk2.zip files.

*** To make floppy installation disks, unzip disk1.zip and disk2.zip
onto separate disks. Run install.exe from the first disk.

*** If installing from a hard disk, unzip disk1.zip and disk2.zip
into the same directory, and run install.exe.

Note that you should install Hardy into a separate
directory from the one containing the installation files.

About Hardy
-----------

Hardy is a meta-CASE tool, or generic diagramming tool
with built-in programming language.

Unlike most flowcharting tools, you can rapidly write your
own diagramming applications. The flexible CLIPS language
gives you the possibility of writing knowledge-based
applications as well as permitting custom (GUIs) graphics
user interfaces to be created with the several
hundred functions provided.

With this power together with the flexible hypertext
framework, you may find Hardy slightly overwhelming
at first. Please read the installation instructions,
change log and user manual.

For further information, a Hardy SDK (software development
kit) is available from our ftp/WWW site, containing CLIPS
examples and an FAQ (frequently asked questions) document.

There is also an email list for users to discuss problems and
issues.

The Hardy demo has limited functionality (a restricted number of diagram
nodes, and a maximum number of cards). To convert the demo into a full
copy, please read the personal licence agreement and obtain a serial
number by filling out a form on our WWW server.
