ERA 4 Package 21/09/05 David Crighton (crighton@gmail.com) 2005 Msc Project, School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh ================================================================= 1. Requirements This file contains all of the work done on the ERA 4 MSc project, the requirements to run ERA 4 is some webspace on a server with PHP version 4.3 installed. This project has not been tested under PHP 5 but releases tend to be largely backwards compatible so you can be fairly confident that ERA 4 will work on PHP version 4.3+. Early versions of PHP may not work, particularly PHP 3 which does not have support for PHP objects and classes. 2. Installation This zip file should be extracted to a folder on your webspace, when extracting it important that the paths information contained in the zip file is retained. See the documentation of your .zip management software for more details on how to do this. 3. Usage Once you have installed ERA 4 the components can be accessed directly by appending their URI to that of the folder you installed into. For example if you installed ERA4 into http://mygroup.mydomain.com/myApps then the components can be accessed by pointing a browser at the following locations Progress Website: http://mygroup.mydomain.com/myApps/ERA4/progress Dissertation: http://mygroup.mydomain.com/myApps/ERA4/progress/dissertation/dissertation.pdf ERA 4: http://mygroup.mydomain.com/myApps/ERA4/html/ 4. Support If theres any problems getting ERA 4 working, or if there are any further MSc projects which expand ERA then I will do my best to provide any support I can, the best way to reach me in such cases is through email at crighton@gmail.com --Dave Crighton, September 2005
